UPDATE: Canton Police Investigate Shell Station Robbery

The Canton Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon at the Shell Station on Riverstone Parkway.

Detectives are on the scene right now gathering information about the robbery that happened in the parking lot of the convenience store. 

Lt. Jeff Tucker with the department said the case is a "work in progress right now" and detectives have very little information as to what happened.

Northside Hospital-Cherokee went into a "partial lockdown" for about an hour after Canton Police notified them of the crime, said Spokeswoman Katherine Watson.

"Everything is back to normal now," she added.
