Your Beliefs
At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.

Politics
How would you describe your political beliefs? In a word- jaded.

Are you registered with a certain party? No.

Religion
How religious would you consider yourself? (casual, observant, devout, non religious)

I've been a missionary in three countries and I'm pretty sure I left a big part of my heart with some Kuna Indians in the Darien Rainforest in Panama. Other than walking around daydreaming about my Panamanian babies (which I've undoubtedly brought up if we've talked for more than 5 minutes), I try to bless others as much as I've been blessed myself. That said, please do not email/call/text me if you catch me on Holly Springs Parkway having a road-rage meltdown. We all have our pressure points.

Local Hot-Button Issues

What do you think are the most important issues facing the community?

School choice, future downtown, the tiny bit of crime we do have, adoptable pets and rescue pets, school events, and small business.

Where do you stand on each of these issues?

I would love to have a coffee shop in a downtownlike area to camp out at and work.

As far as schools go, I don't have a dog in that fight.

I shop small businesses whenever I can. To mix that with the rescue pets topic, there are some exceptional locally owned dog groomers in the area.
