Now that those positions have been filled, we will be doing even better "youngmom". Maybe we can get back on track.

ReplyI also forgot to mention that The Local Legends are performing at 9:00pm upstairs at Downtown Kitchen! Both the Painted Pig and Downtown Kitchen upstairs are excellent night-cap spots after Bush Hawg!

I am excited to see this dialogue occurring between the City and the County. Thank you for taking this on. I certainly hope it leads somewhere great.

Let me put the text of that survey here so that everyone understands:
Are you in favor of the city issuing $6 million in bonds to pay for three new fire stations or consolidating fire services with the county?
81% say FIRE consolidation

Youngmom...your comments are untrue and misguided. I do not want the entire City to consolidate with the county. But if we can consolidate our fire services for better coverage and savings, then we should do it. Bill Bryan is the one that has been pushing for complete consolidation. http://canton-ga.patch.com/blog_posts/opinion-is-canton-going-to-be-a-city Therefore, do not speak for me "youngmom". Yes, 80% are saying... pursue some form of fire consolidation. Please get on board councilman.

ReplyThe quote by Bereseford should be a sign: "But Mr. Cummins wants to belabor the point of consolidation." It sounds to me like Mr. Cummins actually wants to examine the issue and consider all options (as recommended by his constituents). Why should we spend money on a "survey" before we know our options? The county has submitted a proposal and now you all have something to work with. It just does not make good business sense. A simple look at the poll in the Tribune will tell you that at least 80% of the people are in favor of consolidation. http://www.cherokeetribune.com/bookmark/21895014 What happened to listening to your constituents? You are all public servants and are elected by the people.
