ReplySo considering your non-answers to two straightforward and simple questions, the natural conclusions would be:
1. No, you have not read the Stormwater Ordinance.
2. You have no definition of "slush fund".
3. You are not thinking for yourself at all but simply parroting what you have heard somebody else tell you. -

ReplyI simply asked you two questions. You did not answer either. Same old nonsensical babble. You are comical.

ReplyCherokee County does not have a senior property tax exempption. The City of Canton does have a senior property tax exemption. Seniors in both the county and city are exempt from school taxes. The Canton senior exemption can only be removed by referemdum and that will likely never happen.

ReplySo you don't have any rational answers to my reasonable questions. Only emotional babble. Typical.

ReplyFirst I would be interested to know your definition of "slush fund". Second, have you read Canton's Storm Water ordinance? This is the document, aka Law, that describes not only the intent of the Storm Water Utility but the correct uses of the funds collected by the utility. And third, removal has already been tried and it failed spectacularly. It fact it was an even more decisive failure than the fire bond. Those leading the failed effort to remove some council members spent days sifting through financial records at city hall. They did everything possible to investigate our business dealings, backgrounds, and characters. They even leveled a phony, trumped up charge against one council member and only apologized after they were called out on it. All these efforts to discredit those council members yielded a giant goose egg. Nothing. Zip. Nada. So now in the complete absence of factual data to discredit the council, these folks are resorting to the age old tactic of spreading lies and misinformation about issues such as stormwater. Some gullible members of the public, willing to believe anything presented with an air of authority, jump on the band wagon with absolutely no knowledge of the facts.

ReplyIn the temporary absence of a Main Street Director and Director of
Economic Development, several Canton city employees have gone above and
beyond their regular duties and stepped in to fill the void. There are a number of great things going on in Canton this weekend.
Check out the new City of Canton website for details. Also these folks have put
together a very fine city newsletter. Here is the link:

ReplySurely you're not suggesting that we attempt to remove Mr. Cummins from the council?! He's a good guy and means well. We just have different opinions sometimes. Nothing wrong with that.

Jeff, you and so many others and many city staff have gone way above the call to put this great festival together. Thank you.
