The City of Canton's Water-Sewer-Sanitation Department has announced a list of holiday-related garbage pick up interruptions. On holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, garbage trucks will not run their routes. If your scheduled garbage pick up day falls on a holiday such as Christmas or Thanksgiving, your pick up will be delayed by one day. To accommodate the holiday stoppages, garbage trucks will run on Saturdays. For example, those with Thursday pick ups will not have their garbage taken on Thanksgiving, but on the day after. Those with Friday pick ups will have to wait until Saturday for their service, as the garbage trucks will be making Thursday's rounds on Friday.
