A Woodstock man remains behind bars after he was arrested on charges he molested a 13-year-old child. Shogut Hussien, 64, is being held without bond at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on one count of child molestation and two counts of sexual battery. He was arrested on Tuesday after a week-long investigation by the Cherokee Sheriff's Office. Public Information Officer Lt. Former NorthStar Church volunteer Cesar Pastrana will spend the rest of his life in prison after he pleaded guilty Friday to 10 counts of child molestation, four counts of aggravated child molestation and one count of aggravated sodomy. The 25-year-old Kennesaw man admitted in a Cobb County courtroom that he molested nine boys, including two relatives, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A few more details emerged today in the case of Joshua Daniels, the Canton man accused of molesting a 10-year-old Colquitt County girl.
A hearing for a married Canton man accused of molesting his girlfriend's 10-year-old daughter has been set. Joshua Daniels, 29, will appear before Colquitt County Magistrate Court Judge J.J. McMillan at 9 a.m. Jan. 10, Moultrie Police Cpl. Dave Underwood told Canton-Sixes Patch today. It was three weeks ago today that Cherokee County authorities descended on the Hillcrest subdivision where Daniels lives with his wife and children, and arrested him. They were led to him after the 10-year-old Colquitt County girl told a neighbor that she had been assaulted, according to a report in The Moultrie Observer. A Canton man was being held in Colquitt County on charges of child molestation, aggravated child molestation, rape and aggravated assault involving a 10-year-old girl. Joshua Daniels, 29, was booked into the Colquitt County Jail on Thursday, according to this report in The Moultrie Observer. A Paulding County Sheriff's Office deputy at the center of a sexual abuse investigation in Canton has been fired, authorities said this afternoon. Dep. Carl Michael Janflone was arrested at 10:30 p.m. Friday at his Canton home on charges of child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes. "A report was filed by a third party, with the Canton Police Department, on September 29 in reference to the sexual abuse," Canton Police spokeswoman Det. Candy Worthy said in a news release.
