Vanderlande Industries Comes To Cherokee
The material handling systems company is set to move into Cherokee County early next year.
A company based in the Netherlands will move a sliver of its workforce into Cherokee County. Vanderlande Industries will move into a facility located within the Northpoint Industrial Park off Highway 92 near Interstate 75 in the extreme southwestern part of the county. The Cherokee Office of Economic Development announced the news on Tuesday during the Cherokee County Commission's work session. Vanderlande Industries, an automated material handling systems and service company, will lease 95,000 square feet of space inside MDH Partner’s 240 Northpoint Parkway building. This should really state relocate because the rent/lease is cheaper. I do not believe that Buzz or the Office of Economic Development should be patting themselves on the back for a measley 12 jobs. What sort of tax breaks did they get for relocating from Cobb to Cherokee? Probably more than twelve jobs are worth. That is where they are relocating from isn't it? Shouldn't that be part of the story?   more ›
