Freedom Middle School Administrators to Parents: No More Starbucks or Coke

Friday, a sixth grade girl brought alcohol to the Bells Ferry Road middle school in a container that should have had water in it.

Freedom Middle administrators don't want students to step on campus any longer with bottles containing anything other than water after a sixth-grader brought alcohol inside the Bells Ferry Road school on Friday. That means no more Starbucks coffee and no more Coca-Colas. "We are asking that this stop immediately," principal Karen Hawley said in a letter to parents. It was another student who brought the incident, the second of its kind this year at Freedom, to the attention of a teacher, Hawley and assistant principal Sheryl Gould said. "These kids want things to be good," Hawley said. "They will tell when someone is doing something they're not supposed to be doing." What happen to using the water fountains? Why are we raising a bunch of spoiled over weight children? There is no reason for a bottle or some fating coffee drink to be on campus. Some how we survived in the day without them. And also remove all soda and junk food machines.   more ›
