Ladners Continue To Recover From Accident

Friends and family rally around the couple who were hurt in a Texas train accident earlier this month.

It could take up to a year before Holly Springs police officer Shane Ladner and wife Meg Ladner's lives return to normal. That's according to long-time friend Julie Cassidy, who has been by the couple's side since they were seriously injured in a train accident earlier this month in Texas. Meg Ladner, Cassidy said, underwent surgery on Monday to make repairs to her pelvis, hip, and her leg. "The good news is there is no brain damage and all her vital organs are working," she added. "She’s a fighter." Cassidy said Meg Ladner's recovery will take at least a year. She noted she will stay at Atlanta Medical Center for another three months and will undergo rehabilitative therapy at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta for an additional nine months. …

Friends Of Ladners Plan Fundraisers

A fundraiser to help Holly Springs couple Shane and Meg Ladner recover from injuries will be held next month.

Friends are planning an event to raise money for a Holly Springs couple Shane and Meg Ladner who were hurt in a train accident earlier this month. Two sets of pancake breakfasts will be held at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 1 and Dec. 8 at Longhorn Steakhouse at 2700 Town Center Drive in Kennesaw, according to 11 Alive. The event falls on a Saturday and will also feature a silent auction to be held in conjunction of the breakfast. Organizers are requesting participants to donate $20 to help the Ladners. A Facebook page, Prayers For Shane and Meg Ladner, has also been set up so friends and family can keep track of the Ladner's recovery. Holly Springs Police Officer, Wife Flying Home Tonight

Shane and Meg Ladner, who were injured in a Texas train incident, are flying home tonight, but Meg will go to Atlanta Medical Center.

Holly Springs Officer, Wife Hurt In Accident To Return Home

Shane and Meg Ladner, who were involved in a train accident in Texas, could return to the Atlanta area by the end of the weekend.

Holly Springs Police Officer Shane Ladner and wife Meg Ladner will soon return to the Atlanta area. That's according to Holly Springs Police Chief Ken Ball, who provided an update to on the Ladner's condition.  Ball posted on the Holly Springs-Hickory Flat Facebook Page Saturday afternoon, informing residents that Meg Ladner is stable and there are plans to fly the couple back to an Atlanta area hospital "in the next day or so." Ball said Meg Ladner will be admitted to an Atlanta area hospital where she will continue to recover from injuries she sustained in the accident, which occurred late Thursday afternoon in Midland, Texas. Holly Springs Officer Involved In Texas Train Accident

Officer Shane Ladner remains hospitalized and is being treated for injuries he suffered while participating in the Hunt For Heroes event.

UPDATE 4:07 p.m.: Meg Ladner's condition has been upgraded to stable. Her left leg was amputated, but there is no other update on her overall condition. While there was talk of flying Ladner back to the Atlanta area, no decision has been made. It could be as late as Monday before flight arrangements are made.
