Girl, 4, Molested in Canton
The suspect is being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center on a $22,000 bond.
Last month, in the living room of a Shipp Street apartment unit, a 52-year-old Canton man allegedly molested a 4-year-old girl. That is what the Canton Police Department outlined in a redacted incident report from May 22. Local authorities learned of the crime when a 24-year-old Canton woman reported the incident to police just after 10 p.m. May 21. Wednesday, nine days after the woman went to police, Randall Martin Thompson was arrested and booked in the Cherokee County Detention Center on a charge of child molestation. He remains there on a $22,000 bond, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
