Thirteen companies in Cherokee Office of Economic Development's Existing Industry incentive program expanded last year and made over $22.6 million in investments.

Business activity is coming back to life in Cherokee County.  The county last year saw increased prospect activity and existing industry expansion, according to the Cherokee Office of Economic Development.  CoED President Misti Martin told the Council for Quality Growth on Wednesday that 13 companies in its Existing Industries Incentive Program expanded in 2012, creating 365 new jobs and investing $22.6 million in the county. She also noted two additional companies applied for the incentive program, investing $6.5 million and creating 30 new jobs. Woodstock Company To Expand Into Canton

International Thermocast has closed on a deal to expand into 98,000 square feet of space in Canton.

A Woodstock-based company has closed on a deal to expand its footprint into Canton.  The Cherokee Office of Economic Development announced Thursday that International Thermocast has closed on a deal that would allow them to expand into a 98,000-square-foot building at 189 Etowah Industrial Court in the Canton-Cherokee Business & Industrial Park. The facility sits on roughly eight acres just off Cumming Highway/Highway 20 near Interstate 575. Nathan Anderson and Joseph Mullican of NAI Brannen Goddard represented the landlord in the lease, and Misti Deale of PalmerHouse Properties handled the transaction for the tenant. The company closed on the facility's purchase on Dec. 6, and the move will bring between 75 and 100 jobs to Canton. It is …

Vanderlande Industries Comes To Cherokee

The material handling systems company is set to move into Cherokee County early next year.

  A company based in the Netherlands will move a sliver of its workforce into Cherokee County. Vanderlande Industries will move into a facility located within the Northpoint Industrial Park off Highway 92 near Interstate 75 in the extreme southwestern part of the county. The Cherokee Office of Economic Development announced the news on Tuesday during the Cherokee County Commission's work session.  Vanderlande Industries, an automated material handling systems and service company, will lease 95,000 square feet of space inside MDH Partner’s 240 Northpoint Parkway building. This should really state relocate because the rent/lease is cheaper. I do not believe that Buzz or the Office of Economic Development should be patting themselves on the back for a measley 12 jobs. What sort of tax breaks did they get for relocating from Cobb to Cherokee? Probably more than twelve jobs are worth. That is where they are relocating from isn't it?
