A Cherokee County woman who was wanted for allegedly beating her ex-boyfriend has been arrested in Florida after being on the run since early 2012. Karen Lynn King was described as the "last suspect" in the March, 2012 assault on Lyndon Baines Smith. Smith was allegedly beaten, stuffed into the trunk of his own car, and driven from the BridgeMill subdivision to Alabama. Previous to investigators focusing their investigation on finding King, five other suspects, including Smith's sons, were arrested and charged with the assault. Investigators have secured warrants for the ex-girlfriend of 46-year-old Lyndon Baines Smith, the man who was beaten in March, stuffed in the trunk of his own car and driven from BridgeMill to Alabama. Karen Lynn King, 52, of Canton, is wanted on charges of kidnapping with bodily injury, aggravated assault and aggravated battery, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. "She is the last person suspected in the beating," he said this morning in an email to Canton-Sixes Patch. "Her location is unknown. If anyone knows where she is located they are urged to call 911 or investigators at 770-928-0239." The 23-year-old son of the man who was beaten, stuffed in the trunk of his own car and driven from BridgeMill to Alabama has been arrested, the spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said today. U.S. Marshals in Miami arrested Lyndon Ahlik Smith of Atlanta in connection with the March beating of his father, 46-year-old Lyndon Baines Smith. He was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center on June 8, where he is being held on a $121,600 bond on charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
