Woman Turns Self In

A spokeswoman for the Canton Police Department said the agency was going to call the FBI for out-of-state assistance if Ariel Hernandez had not been located by Monday.

Missing for more than two weeks, a wanted Canton woman has turned herself in to local authorities, a Canton Police Department spokeswoman announced this afternoon. Ariel Hernandez, who had two warrants out for her arrest, is at the Cherokee County Detention Center, Sgt. Stacy Bailey said in an email to local media. "We have removed her from GCIC and NCIC as a missing person," she said. Police have not said where Ariel Hernandez, 20, had been hiding out the past two weeks. Her father, John Hernandez, reported her missing on March 16. He hadn't spoken to his daughter since March 8. Woman's Father Announces Reward

John Hernandez is driving up to Georgia on Saturday to aid in the search for 20-year-old Ariel Hernandez. Meanwhile, the Canton Police Department has contacted the GBI.

The father of a missing Canton woman has announced a $500 reward for information leading to his daughter's whereabouts. John Hernandez hasn't spoken to Ariel Hernandez since March 8 and it's not like her to go so long without as much as a call, a text or an email to family and friends, he told the Canton Police Department last Friday, the day he reported her missing. Today, he told a Canton-Sixes Patch reporter that he plans to pull out from his Port St. Lucie, FL, home on Saturday afternoon and make his way to Georgia. John Hernandez said he and his daughter's friends plan to distribute flyers to aid in the search for Ariel Hernandez.
