Officers from Canton and Holly Springs saved a man who may have passed out from smoke inhalation.
A day after detailing the heroics of two officers credited with reviving an unconscious man, the Canton Police Department this afternoon heralded the efforts of two more officers. In a separate incident, Stephen Delman of the Canton Police Department and Shane Smith of the Holly Springs Police Department pulled a 31-year-old man from a burning home on Monday. According to agency spokesman German Rivas, Benjamin Adam Walker was passed out near the front door when Delman and Smith arrived on the scene around 2:30 p.m. Monday. Even though heavy smoke poured out of the residence at 139 Ilex Dr., the men pried open a sliding glass door and saved Walker. Rivas said the man had a pulse and was taken to an unknown hospital for treatment.
