Free Cancer Screenings at Northside-Cherokee
Register early this month to be screened for skin or prostate cancer during the month of April.
Northside Hospital-Cherokee will be hosting two free cancer screening sessions on April 16 and 24, with registration opening in the next two weeks. Registration for the April 16 skin cancer screening will open on March 4. Screenings will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) predicts that 2,000 cases of melanoma (the most dangerous skin cancer) will be diagnosed in Georgia alone in 2013; skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed form of the disease. On April 24, the hospital will host a prostate cancer screening between 6 and 8 p.m. Registration for this screening opens on March 11.
