New Creekview Football Coach Starts Work Next Week

Former Chattahoochee High School coach Terry Crowder will be the new Grizzlies head coach in 2013.

Terry Crowder, who led Johns Creek's Chattahoochee High School to the state football championship in 2010, has been hired as Creekview High School's next head coach. The Cherokee County School Board unanimously approved Crowder's hiring at their meeting last Thursday. Crowder will begin work at Creekview on Feb. 20.  “Coach Crowder brings a great deal of experience to a great football program,” Creekview Principal Dr. Adrian Thomason said in a Cherokee County School District news release. “After speaking with [Chattahoochee Principal Tim Duncan], I am convinced that Coach Crowder will be an excellent role model and will lead our students by example.” Crowder will have some large shoes to fill on the Grizzlies sidelines. Grizzlies, Warriors Take Gridiron Tonight

The Warriors have had two weeks to stomach a loss to Woodstock, while the Grizzlies look to continue their winning ways.

The Cherokee Warriors and Creekview Grizzlies will be playing close to or in Canton tonight, with both squads up against worthy competition. 5-1 Creekview, who is coming of a 56-42 slugfest win against Northview, will be back at the Grizzly Den taking on Milton's Cambridge Bears, who are in their inagural season of play.  The Bears have yet to score more than 28 points in a game, and have put up point totals of 0, 16, 0, 7, 28 and 13 in their 6 defeats this season. Cherokee is coming off a bye week, and will be looking to recover from a 28-0 blanking given by Woodstock two weeks ago which dropped their record to 1-5. Ironically, the Warriors will be playing in Woodstock again tonight, facing a 3-3 Etowah team that lost 59-27 to Milton two …
