What's Closed On President's Day in Cherokee

Only one government entity will close its doors on Monday in observance of the national holiday.

Business will mostly operate as usual in Cherokee County on Monday Feb. 18, which is President's Day. The government offices for Woodstock, Canton, Ball Ground, Waleska and Cherokee County will all be open and operating their normal business hours. However, the city of Holly Springs' government offices will be closed on Monday in observance of the holiday and will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday Feb. 19. The Holly Springs City Council also rescheduled its work session and meeting for 6:30 p.m. Thursday Feb. 21 at Holly Springs Municipal Court.  The Woodstock City Council has cancelled its normal work session scheduled for Monday and will meet at 7 p.m. Monday Feb. 25. Labor Day Closings

Don't head to these places today.

You know the routine. But just in case you forgot that today is Labor Day, here's a reminder of places to avoid and services that won't be available. GOVERNMENT OFFICES Because of the holiday, all city and county government offices will be closed today. The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners will still meet Tuesday for its 3 p.m. work session and its 6 p.m. regular meeting. The Canton City Council will still meet Thursday for its 6 p.m. work session. It will also hold two public hearings at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to discuss the city's fire district tax. LIBRARIES Branches of the Sequoyah Regional Library System won't be open today. SCHOOLS The Cherokee County School District and Chattahoochee Technical College will be closed today.  …

You know the routine, but just in case you forgot that today is the Fourth of July, here's a reminder of places to avoid and services that won't be available. GOVERNMENT OFFICES Because of the holiday, all city and county government offices will be closed today. The Board of Commissioners and the Planning Commission will meet July 10. Instead of meeting on July 5, the Zoning Board of Appeals will meet on July 12. LIBRARIES Branches of the Sequoyah Regional Library System will be closed today. TRASH PICKUP If your regularly scheduled service day falls on or after the Fourth of July, your service will be delayed one day. Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a federal holiday. Find out what's closed as well as how you can honor the civil rights icon's legacy through volunteerism.

The following places—some among Cherokee County's largest employers—will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. While some of us will use the day off to rest, did you know that Coretta Scott King, the wife of the slain civil rights icon, went before Congress in 1994 to make the federal holiday a national day of service?
