Cherokee Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a local neighborhood after a 10-year-old girl reported a man had exposed himself to her, authorities say. According to a Sheriff's Office statement, the girl said she had just gotten off her school bus at around 4:15 p.m. Thursday in the Twin Pines subdivision off of Kellogg Creek Road when a man allegedly exposed himself and made inappropriate comments to her. The girl said she screamed and ran home. Deputies combed the area looking for the suspect, who is described as a heavy set white male with salt-and-pepper hair and was driving an older model white foreign sedan. UPDATE (11:30 a.m.): According to a Sheriffs Office press release, the incident occured on March 2 in the vicinity of Parc Drive in Canton, and involved three girls who were part of a birthday party scavenger hunt. The partygoers had split up into teams of three to go on the scavenger hunt. A man exited his vehicle near one of the teams, and chased after the girls. The girls ran into the woods, then returned to the party, where an adult called 911. Detectives are comparing the description given by the girls with sex offenders that reside in the area.
