The Cherokee County Educational Foundation needs a new logo and it wants the public to help in its initiative. The foundation has announced a contest in which the public can submit a design to represent the foundation and its theme of Raising the Power of Education.  The foundation, organized at the request of Cherokee County School Board vice chair Janet Read, advocates for Cherokee County School district teachers and staff by promoting teaching and learning and celebrating student achievement.  The foundation will raise money and seek out resources to enhance the educational experiences in the school district. Canton Marketplace and Riverstone Parkway Chick-fil-A restaurants are among 115 metro Atlanta locations participating in the Feb. 4 event.

On Saturday, Feb. 4, Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout metro Atlanta will host a father and daughter “Date Night.” The Canton Marketplace Chick-fil-A and the Riverstone Parkway Chick-fil-A are two of 115 participating locations. Chick-fil-A describes the event as an opportunity for fathers and daughters “to spend some time together while they enjoy dinner, great conversation and several special activities.” Reservations are required for the event. Chick-fil-A has announced that they will be selling Valentine's Day cards at both of their Canton locations. The cards are actually coupons for children to give out to friends. When redeemed, customers can get a free ice dream. Booklets of 10 are only $5. I plan to buy these booklets, but I may not hand them to my children to pass out. This is a great booklet to keep stashed away for a quick, easy and super cheap treat for the kids. When it is 100 degrees and the kids are screaming and hot, this deal will come in handy.
