Cherokee Sheriff's Deputies Seek Help in Solving Two Burglary Attempts

Two separate burglaries occurred early Thursday morning, both of which involve an early 1990s model white Ford van.

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office needs the public's help in finding who is behind two attempted burglary incidents that happened early Thursday morning.  At around 4:30 a.m., a van backed up to the Hobgood Chevron at the corner of Bells Ferry Road and Towne Lake Parkway. According to a Cherokee Sheriff's Office press release, a male exited the vehicle and broke the glass window next to the ATM machine inside the store. The suspect allegedly attached at strap to the ATM machine and drove away. However, the strap broke, and neither the suspect nor the van returned to the location. Nothing was taken from the property or from inside the store.  The suspect then allegedly drove directly to the Sweetwater Quickstop convenience store on Knox Bridge …

Woodstock Man Charged With Burglary At Holly Springs Business

Perry Dewey Maple has a prior arrest record with the Holly Springs Police Department.

A Woodstock man has been arrested in connection to a burglary that took place at a Holly Springs business Friday morning. Perry Dewey Maple was arrested by Holly Springs police and charged with burglary, theft by receiving stolen property and criminal damage to property in the second degree. Officers first spotted Maple walking along Holly Springs Parkway near Donna Way around 7:45 Friday morning. Holly Springs police received a call about a suspicious person in the area when Sgt. Ray Pugh spotted Maple walking along the road, said Holly Springs Police Spokeswoman Lt. Tanya Anderson. Anderson said Maple, who fit the description of the suspicious person reported by the citizen, was allegedly carrying a black leather bag when Sgt. Ray Pugh …

Suspect Wanted in Cherokee, 4 Other Counties Arrested in Milton Burglary

A parolee who has served multiple sentences for burglary is being held on a Cherokee County warrant also.

Milton police arrested a man with a long history of burglaries in connection with a break-in at 'Cue Barbecue on GA 9 on Sept. 26. The suspect, a 60-year-old parolee, is wanted in Cherokee County and Lake City, where arrest warrants have been issued. He is a suspect in similar crimes in Forsyth and Cobb counties, according to a release from Milton Communications Manager Jason Wright. Officers suspect Samuel L. Mosley, a convicted burglar, broke into the restaurant through the back door using a crowbar at around 7 a.m.  on Sept. 26. According to surveillance footage provided by the business, the suspect then rummaged through the bar and made his way to the back office, where he broke into a safe and stole $1,100. Update: 3rd Burglary Suspect Caught

Three Canton men are charged with using a ladder to try to break into a Keeter Road house.

It didn't take Cherokee County sheriff's deputies long to catch the man they believe to be the third person involved in Friday afternoon's burglary. Three Canton men—Brandon Terrel, 22, Dennis Karimi, 23, and Kai Williams, 18—are being held in the Cherokee jail under an $11,200 bond on a burglary charge, Lt. Jay Baker said in a news release Friday night. The three are accused of trying to break into a house on Keeter Road. A neighbor saw three men placing a ladder against the house from the backyard and called 911, Baker said. Deputies arrived while the men were still trying to get into the house, and the trio fled. A BridgeMill man is being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center on charges of burglary and violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act. Nicholas Ramaglia was arrested Tuesday, after the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at 337 Laurel Glen Crossing as part of an ongoing burglary investigation, said Capt. Joe Perkins. "During the burglary, several items were taken including electronics, wakeboards, surfboards, and snowboards valued at $6,500 total," he said in a statement.
