Canton Resident Wins Logo Contest

The logo created by Beth Sisson will be used by the Cherokee County Educational Foundation.

A Canton resident's creativity has captured the eye of the Cheorkee County Educational Foundation. Beth Sisson was name the winner of the organization's logo design contest, which it launched last month. Sisson's image includes a silhouette of an apple tree in black and dark red over the acronym CCEF and the words Cherokee County Educational Foundation. Sisson said her design was inspired by The Giving Tree, a classic children's book.  "My mom was a teacher, and I remember how she would do so much that was above and beyond… and I know that teachers often do that out of their own pocket," she said.  "It’s such a great idea to have a foundation to organize people who want to give to help teachers and their students." Sisson has two children …
