Waters is challenging the incumbent, Cherokee County Sheriff Roger Garrison.

The Fraternal Order of Police endorsed David Waters for Cherokee County Sheriff. Waters is challenging the incumbent, Sheriff Roger Garrison. On a message on the group's website, Lodge 13 will back Waters, along with Vic Reynolds for Cobb County District Attorney, Reuben Green for Cobb County Superior Court Judge, Van Pearlberg for Cobb County Superior Court Judge and Marsha Lake for Cobb County State Court Judge. Lodge membership is made up of law enforcement officers from Cherokee and other nearby jurisdictions, and the endorsements aim to reflect the interests of those officers. Clayton Burglary Suspect Arrested

Joey Dewayne Holloway of Waleska is charged with two counts of burglary.

A 27-year-old Waleska man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a rash of burglaries in the Clayton community. Joey Dewayne Holloway, a suspect in two of the burglaries, is at the Cherokee County Detention Center in lieu of a $59,000 bond, charged with two counts of burglary, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. He and his wife, 26-year-old Sylvia Holloway, had just been released from the Bartow County Jail after they were arrested and charged last week with theft by receiving stolen property, Baker said.  The pair allegedly sold stolen jewelry from Cherokee County to a precious metal dealer in Cartersville, he said. Jewelry was one of the primary targets in the rash of burglaries in Cherokee's Clayton …

Jorelys Rivera's Mom Arrested

Joselinne Rivera-Ruiz was arrested in connection with a domestic dispute, according to a Canton Police Department incident report.

Joselinne Rivera-Ruiz, whose daughter's brutal murder made national headlines in December and rocked this city of nearly 23,000, was arrested on Monday. According to a Canton Police Department incident report released today, officers were called to the Walden Crossing Apartments just before 7 p.m. Monday in reference to a domestic dispute between Rivera-Ruiz and her partner, Maria Estela Americano. When police arrived, they noticed bruises and scratches on both women. Rivera-Ruiz's left eye was bruised and discolored. Her neck was scratched. Her shirt had several blood stains. And a red mark stretched across her right knuckle. Maria Americano was bleeding from her right pinky, and had scratches on her right hand as well as a large bruise …
