Bobby's Produce Owner Dies

His produce stand is near the Lebanon Post Office. He spoke with Patch in 2011.

Robert "Bobby" Lawrence, 80, of Canton, died March 23. He owned Bobby's Fresh Produce. Lawrence spoke with Canton-Sixes Patch in 2011 about his life in a federal penitentiary, being a born-again Christian, and surviving two car crashes in one day at the age of 79. Survivors include daughters, Candice Lawrence of Wrightsville, GA, and Carmen Masry of Statesboro, GA; sister Jean Wheeler of Portland; and grandchildren Carter David Lawrence and Daniel Shawn Lawrence of Wrightsville, GA. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

1. Donna Westbrook, the wife of Cherokee County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management director Robby Westbrook, died on Tuesday, a month after she was involved in a car accident. The family will receive visitors from 2 p.m. today until 11 a.m. Friday, the day of the funeral at South Canton Funeral Home. 2. A 17-year-old Woodstock boy who disappeared Wednesday morning was found safe, said Lt. Jay Baker, the spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. 3. Knox Elementary School has lots to celebrate. Two sixth-graders took top honors in the Cherokee County Farm Bureau Contest, district spokeswoman Barbara Jacoby said on Wednesday. Emergency Director's Wife Dies

Donna Westbrook was involved in a car accident last month.

When severe weather hits Cherokee County, everybody relies on Canton's Robby Westbrook. As director of the Cherokee County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, he tells residents when to take cover, when they're in the clear, and what roads to avoid after thunderstorms, snowstorms and tornadoes have passed.    Now the community is rallying behind Westbrook, whose 49-year-old wife died on Tuesday at Northside Hospital-Cherokee, according to his Facebook page and the South Canton Funeral Home & Chapel website. In addition to her husband, Donna Westbrook leaves behind two children, son Daniel and daughter Emily.  They will receive visitors from 2 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Friday, the time of the funeral at South Canton …
