STARS Community Drama presents "A Little Princess"

Come out to the Cherokee Arts Center this Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28, 2013, as STARS Community Drama performs "A Little Princess."  A new adaptation written by Hess Oster based on the book by Frances Hodgson Burnett, brings  this full-length play to life.   Young Sara Crewe arrives at Miss Minchin's Select Seminary for Young Ladies. There the young girl  shines as the star pupil - until the death of her wealthy father completely reverses her fortune. The greedy headmistress allows Sara to become a servant at the school and to live in a cold, dark attic room. Sara uses her vivid imagination to overcome adversity and  bring happiness to those around her.

Sara's role is being performed by eleven-year-old Annalee Armour.  This is Annalee's fourth production and first lead role.  The cast is comprised of mostly local,  young girls, some taking to the stage for the first time.  The beloved director, Mrs.Tisha Gotte, has an amazing way of sharing her love, her time, and imparting her gift of theater with the entire cast and crew.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show time is 7: p.m.  Children 12 and under are $10, and adult tickets (12 years and up) are $12.  There will be a 15 minute intermission, and total run time is an hour and a half. Tickets will be available at the door.
