Five Things to Do in Canton, Cherokee This Week

From Bond films to healthy living, there's tons of stuff happening around town this week.

1. Learn how to live healthy at the Healthy Living Expo on Lake Arrowhead on Thursday, Oct. 3. Vendors and wellness experts will be at The Highlands Grill to answer your questions and help you find products to kick start your healthy lifestyle.

2. Be scared witless at the Woodstock Jaycees' 13th Annual Trail of Terror Haunted House. Although the event runs from Thursday-Saturday every week in October, if you bring five canned goods with you on Thursday night you will receive $5 off the price of admission.

3. Enjoy yourself at the Sixes Elementary PTA Fall Festival on Friday, Oct. 4 from 5 to 9 p.m. The festival will feature food, games, raffle items, and other fun stuff! If you would like to be a vendor at the event or would like more information about the festival, please contact president@sixespta.org.

4. Revisit some of the best Bond films at the Canton Theatre on Wednesday, Oct. 2 and Thursday, Oct. 3 during "The 007 Project." On Wednesday at 7 and 9:30 p.m., the movies will be "Goldfinger" and "For Your Eyes Only." On Thursday, the two films will be "Goldeneye and Skyfall." Who is the best Bond?

5. Celebrate the weekend in downtown Canton during First Friday on Friday, Oct. 4. Mobile food trucks, classic cars, live music and vendors combine to turn the Cannon Park area in to the most happening block party in Cherokee County. While you're down there, see how the work on the Jones Building is progressing!
