Five Things Happening in Canton, Cherokee This Week

Check out these fun things to do around town during the week.

1. Help Woodstock High School's marching band during its fall fundraiser. Between Oct. 14-29, band members will be selling oranges and grapefruits. For more information on the sale, please contact Maria Klouda at klouda@comcast.net.

2. Show off your arts and crafts during Yarn Time at R.T. Jones Memorial Library from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 14. Socialize with fellow crafters as you work on your projects and share your knowledge and experience with new friends. No food or drinks except for bottled water will be allowed. Contact Lisa at 770-479-3090 Ext. 228 if you have questions.

3. Learn more about elections with a lecture by Cherokee County Elections Director Janet Munda at the Cherokee County Libertarian Party's meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Best Western in Canton. Munda will explain why it is so difficult for third party candidates to get on the ballot in national elections.

4. Celebrate Reinhardt University during the Waleska Farmer's Market on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. at North Cherokee Church of Christ. "Soar," Reinhardt's mascot, will be on hand for photo opportunities. There will also be an opportunity for you to win tickets to Reinhardt's next football game!

5. Get your trick-or-treat bag ready at Paper.Scissors.Cake's decorating event on Friday, Oct. 18 at 3 p.m. For $12, you will get all the supplies you need to make your trick-or-treat bag the envy of the neighborhood.
