Cherokee Thanksgiving, Hobo Christmas This Week in Canton

We have your weekly roundup of what's happening this week in Canton.

As you get back into the groove of the work week, Canton-Sixes Patch will keep you updated on what's happening this week in Canton:

  • Early voting for the Canton City Council and Senate District 14 runoff elections continues this week at the Cherokee County Elections Office in downtown Canton. Early voting will take place between 8:30 and 5 p.m. Monday Nov. 25 through Wednesday Nov. 27. 
  • Volunteers are still needed for the Cherokee County Volunteer Aging Council's Adopt-A-Senior program.
  • Cherokee Thanksgiving will be held on Thursday at Canton First United Methodist Church. The event serves a complete Thanksgiving meal to less fortunate residents.
  • Autumn Hill Nursery is holding a Hobo Christmas celebration starting on Saturday Nov. 30. If you bring a nonperishable food item to donate to the Sonlight Vision Food Ministries Pantry, you will receive 10 percent off your Christmas tree selection.
  • Residential trash collection will not be held on Thursday. Waste Management will collect garbage on Friday.
