Warming Shelter Opens As Cold Blast Moves into Canton

The warming shelter at Action Church in Canton will open at 5:30 p.m. tonight as temperatures are expected to dip into the teens.

The Action Church warming shelter will open its doors tonight as another blast of sub-freezing temperatures are expected to make its way into Canton tonight. 

The shelter will open at 5 p.m. at Action Church, located at 271 Marietta Road in Canton. Volunteers will be serving hamburgers and hot dogs at 6:30 p.m. Those without shelter are invited to stay in the church until 8 a.m. Wednesday. 

The National Weather Service predicts temperatures will plummet to 16 degrees tonight in Canton. Winds will be out of the northwest between 10 and 20 miles per hour, with gusts reaching 30.

Tomorrow will bring sunny skies and a high of 35 degrees.
