Drive-By Flu Clinic Draws 152

It's not too late to get a shot. If you missed the clinic, all residents are urged to head to the health department's Canton and Woodstock locations for shots.

The 's drive-by flu shot clinic, which was held Tuesday in the parking lot of the Woodstock Health Center, drew 152 residents, officials said. 

"We are happy with the turn out at the drive-by clinic," said Nancy Stackhouse, Cherokee County Health Immunization Outreach Coordinator and Georgia's 2012 CDC Childhood Immunization Champion. "That's 152 people who are now better prepared to stay healthy this flu season."

About 53 people received the high dose flu shot, which was given to those who were at least 65 years old.

The department offers regular seasonal flu vaccines for $20 and the high dose flu shot for $50. Cash, checks, Medicare, Medicaid, State CIGNA and State Healthcare Insurances are accepted.
