Weekend Pigskin Roundup: Warriors Blanked on the Road
Each Monday we'll take a look at what happened on the gridiron over the weekend in Canton-Sixes Patch.
Lambert 24, Creekview 21 – It’s no easy task to take on the eighth-ranked team in the state, and should take some solace in the fact that the team had a chance to win in the last minute of the game – at least that’s the way Creekview head coach Al Morrell looks at it, according to the Cherokee Tribune. The Grizzlies fought back from a 21-point deficit at halftime to put a scare into the home team and give themselves a few building blocks to work with for the future.
Mill Creek 28, Cherokee 0 – Mill Creek scored twice in the second and twice in the third quarter to blank the visiting Warriors on a night where just couldn’t finish drives. The Warriors dominated the time of possession battle in the first quarter, according to the Cherokee Tribune, but just couldn’t punch a score in. Twice Cherokee drives were halted deep in Mill Creek territory early on and the Warriors had trouble recovering after that.
