District Girls, Boys To Face Off in Golf Championships

The Cherokee County School District Golf Championships will soon be upon us.

The championships will begin Monday, March 24 and will be held at the Fairways of Canton. 

The girls will play their first round on the first day and boys will play their first round on Tuesday, March 25. 

The top three teams from the first round will then advance to the final round on Thursday, March 27. Wednesday, March 26 has been reserved as a rain day on an as needed basis.  

Tee times start at 1 p.m. Each girls' team for any given school will play four golfers, and boys’ teams will play six golfers. 

The tournament will play 18 holes in the first round and 18 holes for the final round. It will utilize staggered start times at 10-minutes intervals, with highest-seeded golfers starting first. Golfers will be grouped in threesomes for play. 

Carts will be available for spectators at the regular cart fee of $18 and concessions will be for sale to spectators, who also will be able to purchase meals at the clubhouse restaurant. 

The Fairways of Canton is at 400 Laurel Canyon in Canton.
