Creekview Defeats Cherokee 21-13

A new high school football rivalry, dubbed the "Battle of Canton," kicked off Thursday.

The came out hot Thursday night for the team's season opener at . After a quick touchdown on the opening drive, the Grizzlies put up a defense that was just too much for the Warriors. Creekview had its biggest battle with penalties. Under the direction of , Cherokee fought back. The contest ended with a 21-13 Creekview victory.

Grizzlies head coach Al Morrell accepted the "Battle Of Canton" trophy.
