Creekview Destroys North Springs 52-7 On Senior Night

Friday night was special in more than one way for the Grizzlies.  Senior band members, drill team, cheerleaders and football players were honored.  Additionally, Creekview had it's biggest blowout of the season.

The first score was after a Grizzly punt.  North Springs touched the ball, it was recovered by Creekview on the 5 and the Grizzlies scored shortly thereafter on Senior Connor Dulmage's (5) reception to make it 7-0.

The Spartans would start their drive, only to have their second pass intercepted by Chandler Wold (18) and run back for 6.  Senior Ben McClellan's (89) extra point would make it 14-0.

Creekview took over on downs late in the first quarter. In the beginning of the second quarter, Chandler Wold scored on a Kyle Wilkie (10) pass to make it 21-0.

Dawson Ewers (4) made the next interception on about the 40, but the drive would stagnate at the 20.  Ben McClellan picked up the field goal to go ahead 24-0.

Late in the first half, QB Kyle Wilkie (10), broke the Creekview single season passing record of 1086 yards.  It is ironic that the old record was held by past Grizzly QB Collins Wold who is now a coach for Creekview.  Additionally, many the yards Wilkie accumulated, were to top target Chandler Wold (18), younger brother of Collins Wold.

Later, a Spartans fumble would be recovered by Zach Chester (52) to give Creekview the ball on the North Springs 40.  After a possession change, the Grizzlies would finish up the half up 31-0 on a Kyle Wilkie - Dawson Ewers pass from inside the 10 yard line.

The second half brought more of the same.  with the Spartans on Creekview's 5 yard line, a pass in the end zone was picked off by Chandler Wold and run over 100 yards for another Grizzly TD.  The Ben McClellan extra point was good.  It was 38-0 Creekview

On their next possession, North Springs was starting their drive, only to see the first pass intercepted by Senior Ben O'Donnell (15) just outside of the 20 yard line.  This would set up a Kevin Jones (2) run from about the 15 to make it 44-0.  Kicker Ben McClellan put it right down the middle to go up 45-0.

The next big play was a Spartans fumble on a completed pass that was scooped up by Senior Casey Martin (12) on about the Spartans 25.  This would be the final nail in the coffin for North Springs.  QB Kyle Wilkie eventually took the keeper in, followed by another Ben McClellan extra point to go up 52-0.

North Springs would score in the 4th, to make the final 52-7.

Although Grizzly RB Isaiah Rodgers (27) did not put points on the board, he picked up a solid 104 yards on 14 carries, which frequently put Creekview in position to score.

As the season comes to a close, Creekview owes a debt of gratitude to it's seniors.  Even with a great new coach like Terry Crowder, these seniors have been the force behind the 2013 Grizzlies.

Thanks to Seniors:
