Cherokee vs. Creekview Could be Game of the Week
Vote early and often to bring WSB-TV to opening night for Cherokee County football.
Next Friday night's season opener for Cherokee and Creekview high school football could have a little more pageantry than usual.
That's because the game is in the running for the Academy Sports + Outdoors Viewer's Choice game of the week, which would bring cameras from WSB-TV to Cherokee County to cover the big game.
Voting is open now, and voters are encouraged to vote as many times as they'd like in order to get the cameras out to their school's contest. Currently, the game between Alpharetta and Milton high schools is leading the way with over 100 votes. Cherokee and Creekview's game is in third place.
In last year's inaugural "Battle of Canton", Creekview came to Cherokee High School and beat the Warriors on their home turf 21-13. This year, the Grizzlies will be at home and will try to keep their new rivals from returning the favor.
The game will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 30.
