Athlete of the Week: Lauren Mullinax
Every week, the Canton-Sixes Patch will select a high school athlete that exceeded expectations on the field of play.
The fastpitch softball team placed third in last weekend's 22nd Annual Cherokee County Invitational at the Twin Creeks Softball Complex in Woodstock, and Lauren Mullinax played a major role in that success. For that reason, Mullinax has been selected as the Canton-Sixes Patch Athlete of the Week.
Mullinax went 3-for-3 with two home runs and drove in three runs to pace Cherokee over East Hall, 3-2, according to the Cherokee Ledger-News. She also shined in Cherokee’s win over Blessed Trinity – a win that gave the Warriors a Gold Bracket berth.
Multi-hit games are nothing new for Mullinax, who has been wielding a strong bat all season for the Warriors.
