Last weekend was an important event for wrestlers in regions around the state. Place in the top four in your weight class or go home.

In 7-AAAA, six  advanced to sectionals, which will be held next weekend in Columbus, GA.

  • In the 138-pound division, Joe Hulen defeated Jack Usher of  by a major decision of 12-2 for the championship win. He went 3-0 for the tournament with two pins.
  • Cullen Castle (120) went 2-1 with one pin for a second place finish.
  • Joseph Sorrentino (170) also finished second. He went 3-1 with two pins.
  • Michael Edwards (132) and Hunter Udall (152) went 3-1, good enough for third place finishes.
  • Nate Bridges (106) finished 2-2 with two pins. He finished in fourth place.

At Sectionals, the top eight finishers move on to the state finals at the .
