Everyone Needs an Outlet...

....an Outlet Mall that is! Have you been to the latest addition to Cherokee County's fashion scene - "The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta"?  I know you've all seen the sprawling pastel colored shopping center on 575 between Towne Lake Parkway and Sixes Road with cars parked EVERYWHERE.

I did not go to the grand opening, did you?

Rest assured, I made my way there the following week to check out this new shopping venue. Traffic was still bad, but I absolutely love this mall. It's a perfect size. It's easily shoppable in a day with your bffs. Instead of long rows of stores like the Dawsonville outlet, it's laid out in sort of a clustered shape with the food court in the middle. There are nice covered walkways with lots of seating. It reminds me of a shopping village. I really like the look of the place.

Another thing I like about this mall is that there's a really great variety of stores for all ages and clothing types. You've got American Eagle, Papaya, Aeropostale and Charlotte Russe for the younger set. All the children's clothing stores  such as Carters and Gymboree are close together which makes it easier for parents in a hurry. Then there's the classic J. Crew, Loft outlet and Ann Taylor, my personal favorites.  There are also several athletic wear stores such as Under Armour, Columbia Sportswear and Adidas. I can't leave out White House/Black Market, Chicos, Levi's, True Religion, Lucky and Talbots, all of which are excellent stores for you fashion mavens.

If you like designer bags or just designer wear, don't despair- there's Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Juicy Couture, Guess, Tommy Hilfiger and Saks Fifth Avenue Off Fifth. There's also a good assortment of shoe stores, with Nine West being my favorite.

So many things are right at this mall-the staff seem to be happy to be there and they want to help you, making shopping a pleasure. The bathrooms are convenient and have beautiful tile work.

What I saw that I feel will be addressed as they continue the build out is the need for more adult eating places. I always need a glass of wine after a hard day of shopping. In addition, they do not have a little "you are here" emblem on the maps posted to help you triangulate your position. As geography teachers know, most of us stink at reading maps.  In addition, one of the stores we entered smelled so much like barf that we had to leave. Hopefully that situation has been addressed. I'd also like to see a Vince Camuto store for purely selfish reasons-I love me some Vince Camuto!  You can never have too many shoe stores!! And yes, I wish they had a Gap Outlet.

Even so, this shopping arena is divine, as it provides jobs and top rate fashion for Cherokee county. I give it a big thumbs up!  Keep in mind I did not list all the stores, just some of my fashion favorites. Go here to see the list: http://www.horizongroup.com/our-centers/atlanta/contact-info/default.aspx , then get on over to the Outlet Shoppes.
