After first place finishes at the Cherokee County School District’s Social Studies Fair, fifth-grader Haley Swanger and sixth-grader Madison Rodriguez have advanced to regionals, district spokeswoman Barbara Jacoby said this week. Meanwhile, Knox's Danielle Mullan took top honors in the Cherokee County Council PTA's Reflections competition, which was based on the theme "Diversity Means ..." Mullan's self-choreographed dance earned her a spot in the state competition, Jacoby said.
