Revved Up Kids Basic Self-Defense Class for Children Age 6 - 10 in Atlanta

The Revved Up Kids Basic self-defense class for children in Atlanta consists of a three hour instructor led session. Children and parents attend the class together because it's important for parents to be able to continue reinforcing safety behaviors at home. Revved Up Kids will bring the course to any metro-Atlanta group of 12 or more children who has a suitable space (at least 800 sq feet of open space with access to electricity).

Structure of the Revved Up Kids Basic Child Self-Defense Class

The Revved Up Kids Basic class is specifically designed for children ages 6 - 10 (1st - 5th grade). We teach the course in a way that lets the children understand the seriousness of the subject matter but, at the same time, leaves them feeling empowered, not fearful. Why ages 6 - 10? Children younger than 6 may be frightened by the material in the presentation; and children older than 10 are faced with a different set of safety challenges.

This class requires that each child be accompanied by a parent or other adult who will learn along with the child and be committed to reinforcing the concepts on an ongoing basis at home. Children in this age range do not typically retain learning unless it is continually reinforced. In order for the children to get the most out of the class and continue to understand the importance of owning their personal safety, they need adults in their lives who will maintain that safety dialogue.

We understand the needs and attention span of children in this age group and we have designed the Revved Up Kids Basic child self-defense class to have minimal "lecture" time. Rather, we keep the children active and participating throughout the program. Children are more likely to retain information if they not only hear it, but actively participate in the lessons.
