Cherokee School Board To Consider Principal Shuffling

Three principals will most likely start new positions for the 2014-15 school year.

The Cherokee County School Board is set to approve appointing new faces to great students at the start of the 2014-15 school year.

During its meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. tonight, the board will consider shuffling principals at some of its schools and possibly promoting current principals to central office positions.

Under consideration are to:

  • Transfer Ball Ground Elementary Principal Doug Knott to Liberty Elementary School.
  • Promote current Liberty Elementary Principal Dr. Nicole Homes to the director of school operations position.
  • Transfer Hickory Flat Elementary Principal Dr. Keith Ingram to Ball Ground Elementary; and
  • Transfer Woodstock Middle Assistant Principal Whitney Nolan to become the principal at Hickory Flat Elementary.Β 
The board will also recognize Cherokee High Principal Debra Murdock for being named the Georgia High School Principal of the Year, consider naming a delegate for the 2014 Georgia School Boards Association Assembly and a resolution requesting class size exemptions from the Georgia Department of Education.
