48 student athletes from Cherokee County were honored at a banquet at Northside Hospital-Cherokee.

Student athletes from Creekview and Cherokee high schools that signed letters of intent to play college sports were recognized during a ceremony at Northside Hospital-Cherokee on Wednesday.

In total, 48 Cherokee County School District (CCSD) student athletes were received at a brunch in honor of their commitments on National Signing Day, the earliest day high school seniors are allowed to make a commitment to play college football.

Although football is the big draw on National Signing Day, the CCSD student athletes will be playing other sports such as baseball, wrestling, and track and field, among others.
