Today is the start of a new school year in Cherokee County. Canton-Sixes Patch has compiled a list of pertinent information to make sure you have a successful first day.

NEW START AND END TIMES. Some schools have them, according to the district website. Here are the start and end times for the 12 schools within Canton-Sixes Patch.

HOT TEMPERATURES. Cherokee students are returning to school during the hottest week of the summer, according to several metro Atlanta meteorologists. Dress comfortably. The National Weather Service anticipates the area will reach a high of 96 degrees. It will feel like it's 104 degrees.
