I'm listening to you......

Election time is approaching; we’ll be going to the polls on November 5th to elect our city council men and women. Voting in Canton is a little different from what some might be used to. I’m frequently asked about the Wards, and can a person vote for more than one candidate.

Canton is divided into three Wards. We (Great Sky) are in Ward One, represented by Bob Rush and Hooky Huffman. Ward Two is the downtown area, represented by Bill Bryan and Jack Goodwin. Ward Three is the River Green and South Canton area, represented by Glen Cummins and John Beresford.

We, Ward I, have three candidates from which to choose, Sandy McGrew, Bob Reilly and Clint Weatherby. Ward II has Bill Grant and Ari Durham, Ward III has Molly Lewis, John Rust, Tom Sanders, and Farris Yawn.

As residents of the city of Canton, we vote for the representatives of all three Wards.

If you have any questions about voting procedures or where to vote all this can be answered by referring to the Cherokee County Elections & Voter Registration website at -- voter.cherokeega.com, or you can call their office at 770-479-0407.
