State Sen. Bruce Thompson Sworn Into Office

The Cartersville entrepreneur and businessman will represent portions of Bartow, Cherokee and Cobb counties.

State Sen. Bruce Thompson, R-Cartersville, was officially sworn into office on Thursday to represent Senate District 14 at the State Capitol. 

Senate District 14 covers western Cherokee, eastern Bartow and a sliver of northeastern Cobb County.

“I am deeply humbled for the opportunity to serve the constituents of the 14th Senate District,” Thompson in a press release. “I look forward working with my colleagues in the General Assembly and am committed to making Georgia a better place to live, work and raise a family.”

Prior to being elected to the state Senate, Thompson contributed to his community by serving as chairman of the Cartersville-Bartow Chamber of Commerce and chairman of Personnel at First Baptist Church of Cartersville. He is also a successful entrepreneur and businessman and serves as an insurance agent at Allstate Insurance. 

Thompson graduated from Montana State University-Northern and went on to serve four years in the U.S. military as a tank commander.

Thompson and his wife, Becky, reside in the Cartersville area along with their children, Faith and Max.
