S.R. 140 Repairs Begin; Zaxby's Owner Visits Knox ES

1. Maintenance on State Route 140 between mile markers No. 6 and No. 7 will begin at 7:30 a.m. today and continue until 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The Georgia Department of Transportation announced on Friday that crews need to repair deteriorating asphalt spots.

Michael Sanchez, a former member of the New York Police Department and confidential aide to NYPD Commissioner Bernie Kerik during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, will be the keynote speaker at this morning's 9/11 ceremony in Downtown Canton. 5. Fred Weir, the owner of and  Zaxby locations, recently spoke to fifth-graders as part of a lesson on economics. "His experience in the business world allowed the students to better understand how the economy works, and they each received a plate of Zaxby’s chicken tenders and fries as part of the program," spokeswoman Barbara Jacoby said.
