Second Budget Hearing to be Held Thursday

The Fiscal Year 2014 budget could include property tax increases.

Canton residents wishing to express their opinions on the city's Fiscal Year 2014 budget will have an opportunity to do so Thursday night.

The second of three budget hearings will be held at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

The 2014 budget may include a millage rate increase to help pay for the hiring of additional fire fighters and an amphitheater at the Etowah River Park.

Canton-Sixes Patch was at the first budget meeting on Aug. 1 and has included a video of citizens' comments in this article.

The budget will not be adopted until Aug. 22, following another public hearing.
