Rogers Responds to Challenge

On the same day that Republican Brandon Beach said he planned to run for the District 21 state senate seat, Georgia Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) announced an endorsement.

The former campaign manager for , the North Fulton Republican who on Thursday announced plans to run for the District 21 state senate seat currently held by Georgia Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock), is endorsing Rogers.

Hours after Beach kicked off his campaign for the Republican nomination, Rogers alerted local media of the endorsement via email.

Here's the text of his release:

Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers announced the support of former State Senator and State Republican Party Chairman Rusty Paul. Paul also served previously as the campaign manager for Brandon Beach a rumored but yet announced or filed candidate for the 21st Senate District.

“I’ve worked with Sen. Rogers for over a decade. While some people claim to be conservative, he’s the walking, talking, living, breathing real thing. Plus, he’s a committed problem solver who is unbelievably adept at developing workable solutions that get the job done without chewing up taxpayer dollars in the process” Said former State Senator and Republican Party Chairman Rusty Paul, Beach’s former campaign manager.

Previously the campaign released unanimous support of the Republican members of the Fulton County delegation. The 21st Senate district is now comprised of parts of Cherokee County and the cities of Milton and Alpharetta in North Fulton County.

“I am blessed to have the support of numerous conservative leaders around my district and our state. Rusty Paul is one of those leaders and I am proud to have his endorsement. Rusty, and conservatives across District 21, have rallied to my steadfast leadership in support of smaller government, lower taxes and educational freedom and choice. People are fed up with perennial candidates desperately seeking titles. Like Rusty, the people of Cherokee and Fulton have enthusiastically embraced my consistent and bold leadership for our conservative values. I will continue to stand strong for them and our shared conservative values,” said Senator Rogers.

Senator Rogers has earned a reputation for being one of Georgia’s strongest advocates on behalf of taxpayers. Rogers has also become a national leader for the pursuit of educational freedom, giving students and parents more opportunity and choice.

Senator Rogers serves as Georgia’s Majority Leader in the State Senate being elected by his peers unanimously. Over the coming weeks Senator Rogers’ campaign will continue to release lists of business, political, and local leaders joining his “Campaign for a Better Georgia”.

I have to wonder what Chip promised or threatened Rusty Paul with for him to turncoat but Rusty has joined the losing team. Chip Rogers is running scared – he never thought that anyone would run against him. He thought he could bully his way and run roughshod over the people and children of this county and that he would never be held accountable for his actions. WRONG!! We are motivated to vote against Chip but now we have a really good person to vote FOR!

Looks like Chip is having trouble finding volunteers, take a look at his facebook- looking to pay people to put out signs. Post asks them to contact Brian Laurens if interested . . . which means given his history the signs will probably be put up without permission.

Chip Rogers. He represents the 1% so well thru his work with ALEC.
Concerned Mom May 11, 2012 at 07:46 pm
Thank heavens someone is running against him. I'd vote for Ronald McDonald over the Chipster and his agenda driven policies. I'd like to know why the people think those parents of the 35,000 public school kids of Cherokee County who have seen their school budgets cut, classroom sizes go up, furlough days increase, would sit back while he pushes the Charter School and giving them money while cutting money from our kids. Chippy wants to service the 800 kids at CCA, maybe someone at CCA could teach him math, and explain 800 kids, equals at best 1600 parents who vote. Add in the few teachers on staff, maybe you get 1650. Now think Chipper about how many parents and teachers from CCSD are voting...wait for it...wait for it...that's the sound of Chip figure out the math isn't on his side.

@concerned Mom I agree with you, The Chipster thought he could run roughshod over the people in Cherokee and take away our voting rights and do his best to destroy our public schools and that he would not have to answer to the voters because no one ever runs against him. I am thrilled that we have a choice in this election and I can't wait to cast my vote for BRANDON BEACH!!!!

Fabulous hyperbole...
Will Winners May 11, 2012 at 11:59 pm
@Brian Davis I heard that he's offering to pay people as well. Boo Hoo! Poor Chipster will now have to face the music for his failure to represent 95% of the people in this county. Hope he enjoys his friends from the 5% of the people he passed laws for. Oh wait - even they are not helping him or why else would he need to pay people.

none of what you say is true....
Will Winners May 12, 2012 at 02:15 pm
@Mikael Chip Rogers represents the 5% with education and the 95% of those of us that he throws under the bus every year finally have a choice in this election. I believe that we are motivated to vote in this primary for the first time in years. I hope Chip was well rewarded for all his efforts to destroy our public school system - I am just glad that he won't have a chance to do further harm. We finally have the chance to vote for someone that will stand up for public education when we vote for BRANDON BEACH!!!

Fabulous use of hyperbole... But again not factual..
Concerned Mom May 12, 2012 at 03:01 pm
Mikael do you no any other "big word" besides hyperbole? I understand that you do not agree with the opinions of some of us. That is your right. Feel free to use that right. However, be aware at this point, the over use of the word hyperbole by you, makes your comments, well...seem silly, to be blunt, at this point.

Thank you to Brandon Beach. I was trying to figure out who to write-in, because there was no way Chip was getting my vote.
Being one myself, it's time the whole Republican party get a shake-up. Sick & tired of a dozen close friends deciding who our candidates & agendas should be. Mr Beach, you could be a democrat, and I would vote for you.
Hey, hey, hey Goodbye May 13, 2012 at 05:19 pm
Chip is about to learn a lesson on the power of the vote – I am sick and tired of him and his ilk wrapping themselves in the cloak of ‘conservatism’ and then lying, scheming and cheating to curry favors and line their pockets with our taxpayer money. He, Charlice, Calvin, and Sean have been wearing their Captain America underoos too tight and have forgotten that we don’t need them nearly as much as they need us. I’m looking in my crystal ball and seeing a whole new crop of elected legislators from our region down at the Gold Dome come next session – and what a pretty, pretty picture it is!

Facts do not change due to popularity or ignorance.

An endorsement from Rusty "Dusty" Paul is a kiss of death. A retread endorsing a thieving slimy snake. Those two deserve one another and this district deserves an honest hard working family man who will bring jobs (the man is a pro), lower taxes and improve our quality of life. Go Beach!
