Resident: Shannon Wallace Is A "Model Of Integrity"

Canton resident Larry Berry is defending Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit District Attorney Shannon Wallace after she concluded the Cherokee commission broke no laws in the failed Ball Ground Recycling venture.

Editor's note: The following is a letter to the editor from Canton resident Larry Berry.

This is in response to Channing Ruskell’s letter to the editor (in the Cherokee Tribune) regarding District Attorney Shannon Wallace. District Attorney Wallace stated she found no evidence in the audit of illegal activity by the Board of Commissioners. Mr. Ruskell says it is outrageous that she found nothing illegal in the actions of the commissioners.

This audit was also reviewed by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who also found no evidence of illegal activity on the part of the Board of Commissioners.

Is Mr. Ruskell implying some vast conspiracy on the part on the district attorney, the sheriff’s office, the GBI, and the FBI, since they all came to the same conclusion? Talk about paranoia!

Shannon Wallace has served as assistant district attorney and as district attorney. She has proven herself to be an exceptionally capable district attorney and a model of integrity.

Cherokee County is well served by her.
