Alcohol Sales on Canton's Agenda

1. In its November issue, Georgia Trend magazine announced its best places to work, and was one of them. "Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services was recognized for being in a hotspot of metro growth and almost doubling its staff in recent years covering a population of 225,000 across 400 square miles," agency spokesman Tim Cavender wrote in a news release. 2. The Georgia High School Association Reclassification Committee will now place  and other high schools in their proper classifications on Nov. 21. The committee was scheduled to take up the matter on Tuesday. According to a post on the GHSA's website, the committee met, but took a vote on another issue: rescinding "a policy that allows schools to drop certain special-needs students from their FTE (enrollment) counts." Based on enrollment figures, Creekview would move to 5A and would move to 6A. 

3. Nine days after , the  will have the first reading of an ordinance that will permit package sales of beer and wine between 12:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Sundays. The City Council meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 151 Elizabeth. Open the PDF to read the full ordinance.
