Mayor to Discuss Fire District Veto Today

1. Seniors from across Canton flooded last week's city council meeting, most of them in opposition to a fire district ordinance that threatens to eliminate a decade of voter-approved tax exemptions. Canton Mayor Gene Hobgood said it was likely that he would veto the measure. We'll learn his decision during an 11 a.m. press conference at City Hall.

2. A federal appeals court this week ruled that two Wisconsin high schools violated the U.S. Constitution when they held graduations in a church. What impact could that ruling have on the ? Find out at 5:55 a.m.

3. The  met Wednesday to approve its Fiscal Year 2012-13 budget. The $518.7 million budget is approximately $9 million less than the school system’s budget for 2011-12.
